Sakab Bashir
As a mixed media artist and graphic designer, experience working with arts organisations, charities and individual artists, as well as developing my own creative projects. Recent collaborations include Southbank Centre, The Digital Good Network, Greenpeace and Derby Museum & Art Gallery.
My practice spans print, web, animation, video, installations, exhibitions, and interactive design. Alongside my design practice I’ve continued to develop my artistic portfolio. Much of my early work was digital, ‘Year Of The Artist In The West Midlands’ ( BAFTA Nominee – Interface Design, 2001 ) and ‘Alleph’ ( BAFTA Winner – Interactive Arts, 2003 ). In 2014, I transitioned from screen-based work to sculpture ( Best in Sculpture – RBSA, March 2016 ).
Today, my practice sits at the intersection of art, design, and technology. Whether through sculpture, painting, interactive media, or community projects, I’m motivated by the same curiosity I had when drawing as a child.
